Hello!! I am Angelo Jones, but most people on the internet know me as AJAnomaly. I have been making art since 1987 when I was given a box of crayons and told to sit quietly. I did not sit quietly.
I live in Glendale, California with my cat Pixel, who is black, 4 years old, and has never once appreciated my work.
I believe that art should make you feel something, even if that something is confusion. Especially if it is confusion. My work explores the intersection of color theory, raw emotion, and what happens when you leave the paint out too long.
My primary mediums include oil paint, acrylic, digital illustration (on my Pentium II, 64MB RAM), and occasionally sheer force of will. I have been known to paint in the dark. I am not sure this improves the work but it is very dramatic.
Critics have described my style as "intensely itself." I choose to take that as a compliment. One reviewer called Piece #47 "unsettling in a way that is hard to articulate." I framed it. It is on my wall.
I create my digital works on a Pentium II running Windows 98 SE with 64MB of RAM (upgraded from 32!). My monitor is a 17" CRT at 800×600. I use Netscape Navigator 4.0. I am aware of Internet Explorer. I have chosen not to acknowledge it further.
